REF Montenegro Hosts the Second Professional Intergovernmental Know-how Exchange on Secondary School Scholarships and Mentoring for Roma Students
On September 26-27, the Roma Education Fund (REF) is organizing a Professional Intergovernmental Know-how Exchange on the Implementation of Large Scale Secondary School Scholarship and Mentoring Programs for Roma Students. The event is hosted by the REF Representative Office in Montenegro and will be attended by representatives of ministries from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovakia who will share their knowledge and best practices for monitoring and evaluating their scholarship and mentoring programs which reach over 4,500 Roma students annually.

The organisation Mixed Migration Platform has published a new paper that explores the “politics of labelling” in the UK, focusing on the terms “refugee” and “migrant”. This publication argues that every term used when talking about migration has an eventual people on migrants’ lives, since they shape the public discourse and the perceptions of the society. Media in the West has often classified people on the move in two big boxes: refugees, who seek asylum due to armed conflicts in their home countries; and migrants, who travel through choice for economic reasons.
